Loc Le Xuan (Luke) is a pharmacist – a lecturer in Pharmaceutics at School of Medicine, Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City. As a graduate of the University of Angers, France, Luke earned his Master degree in Nanomedicine: Research and Development in 2018. His academic research interest lies in drug formulations and their pharmacological mechanism. In 2015 he won “The best oral presentation prize” in ASEAN PharmNET scientific conference and in 2016 his research was selected for “Top 15 best researches prize” in Asia Pacific Federation of Pharmacologists conference.
Beside sharing knowledge to his students at university, Luke is personally passionate about and professionally committed to improving public healthcare through providing health consulting and rational use of medicine via his youtube channel Duoc si Tuan Loc. With the dedication to sciences and the understanding of the large unmet needs of innovations in science education in Vietnam, in 2017, he assembled a team, acquired funding, and developed a social project called Make Science Make Sense Project (MSMS). The project attracted approximately 2000 students all over Vietnam in both online and offline activities. The success of MSMS encourages him and his partners to develop DATACracy, which promotes the awareness and the application of data sciences at work and daily life.
In 2016, Luke was honored by the Former President Barack Obama at YSEALI Townhall in Ho Chi Minh City for his effort and achievements both in his current job in science and his community projects.
